Grounded
Get out of your head and back into your body
Grounded is a six-week mindfulness group for people who live in their heads. Maybe you overthink, replay and plan, and stay calm on the outside while your mind never stops. Maybe you run hot, or you go numb. Maybe you spend most of your day on a screen and can't remember the last time you felt your feet on the floor.
Each week we practice together: breath, body awareness, and simple ways to pause before you react. We also get to know the part of you that won't stop thinking, with curiosity instead of force. You'll leave with practices that fit an ordinary day, and a small circle of people who know what you're working on.

What you'll practice
Grounding is a skill, not a mood. It is practiced, the way anything is practiced, which is why each session moves between sitting, moving, writing and talking.
You don't need any experience with meditation, and you don't need to arrive calm. Feeling scattered is the reason to come, not a reason to wait.
Phones go in a basket at the door. For ninety minutes, the only thing to keep up with is what's happening in the room. Between sessions, you'll have a ten-minute daily practice.
Over the six weeks
- Week 1, Jan 14, Arriving. Breath, a body scan, and the agreements that make the room safe.
- Week 2, Jan 21, The body as anchor. Grounding practices you can use anywhere.
- Week 3, Jan 28, Reactivity. Noticing the moment before you react, and widening it.
- Week 4, Feb 4, The thinking part. Getting to know the part of you that won't stop thinking.
- Week 5, Feb 11, Contact. Listening and speaking from presence, with each other.
- Week 6, Feb 18, Carrying it home. A simple daily practice that's yours to keep.
Is this your room?
Eight to ten people for six weeks is a small, specific room. Better to know now than in week two.
This is likely your group if…
- You live in your head: overthinking, replaying, planning, bracing.
- You tend to run hot or go numb, and you'd like another option.
- You want practices you can actually use, not only talk about.
- You can give ten minutes a day between sessions, and commit to all six.
This might not be the moment if…
- You're in acute crisis. Individual work comes first, and we can help you start there, today.
- Recent trauma still feels overwhelming. Individual work first lets us go at your pace.
- You're looking for a silent retreat. This group moves, writes and talks as much as it sits.
- Your schedule means you'd miss two or more sessions. A closed circle can't absorb that.
None of these is a no from us. Tell us where you are and we'll point you at the right room.
